I finally had a chance to drive from Miri to Kuching with family during the Raya holidays this year with Volkswagen Polo TSI. The plan was to send my car to Kuching workshop for bumper replacement and in the meantime, spend our holidays at Kuching. We started our journey @ 8:30AM, after 2.5 hours drive, we reached Bintulu . We decided to have a break and had our lunch there before continuing 3 hours drive to Sibu. We spent a night in Sibu @ RH Hotel before heading to Kuching.
After we had our breakfast, we started to drive from Sibu to Kuching. After 6 hours of driving without any pit stop, we finally reached Kuching, cat town.
We spent a week in Kuching and I sent my car to workshop for bumper replacement.
While waiting for the car, we tour around the Kuching.
We tried Kuching Laksa.
Boat ride to get across the river to buy Kuih Lapis. 50cents per person.
After a week, we felt heavy hearted to say goodbye to Kuching. We drove 12 hours straight from Kuching to Miri and we took a few short breaks at petrol station only as we drove along.
The total mileage traveled was 1900+km with total of ~80L petrol; which about 23.75KM/L for my Polo TSI – Quite amazing fuel consumption with average speed of 80-90KM/hr.
